Maui Arts League, sponsoring organization of this event, was pleased to offer this youth art event for our young artists within our community. The goal of the event is to encourage young artists to explore their artistic talents. ‘Growing future artists’ is important to society’s long-range healthiness and Maui Arts League intends to be an active participant in making this happen. The event was held in the Campbell Park on Front Street in Lahaina. The park is located next to the Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s office and the Baldwin House.
Following the Paint Out, the students, their parents, and the public are invited to a reception at the Pioneer Inn 2:30-3:30 p.m. Light refreshments served. Kim von Tempsky, retired VP of Marketing from Lahaina Galleries, judged the student exhibition. Students paintings selected for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in K-5, Middle School, and High School received award ribbons and gift certificates for art supplies at Lahaina Ace Hardware. These three paintings was exhibited along side award winners of the Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational artists during the weekend activities at the Royal Lahaina Resort Feb. 23-25, 2018.
